Gov. Kim Reynolds: Iowa needs Congress to ratify the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement

Most springs in Iowa are marked by farmers in the fields and a refreshing breather from frigid winters. Yet, this one brings with it a potentially incredible lift for our farm families, small business owners, entrepreneurs, advanced manufacturers, and exporters.
That is, IF Congress ratifies United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement also known as USMCA.
This new trade agreement would add $68.2 billion to the U.S. economy and create 176,000 new jobs, according to a study from the International Trade Commission just released last week. The study further stated:
“While USMCA is anticipated to have a positive effect on all broad industries within the national economy, manufacturing would experience the largest percentage gains in output, exports, wages, and employment, while in absolute terms, services would experience the largest gains in output and employment.”
