Iowa Economic Development
Monday, February 22, 2016
The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) was created in 2011 to replace the Iowa Department of Economic Development as part of the complete overhaul of Iowa’s economic development delivery model. IEDA’s mission is to strengthen economic and community vitality by building partnerships and leveraging resources to make Iowa the choice for people and businesses.
Through their two main divisions–business development and community development–IEDA administers several state and federal programs to meet its goals of assisting individuals, communities and businesses. They strive to achieve their mission and meet their goals so Iowans can benefit.
As a government agency, IEDA maintains a high level of transparency and invites everyone to review their results, board actions, administrative rules, requests for proposals (RFPs), and more. These results are all available at their website located under the about section. Here, you can also view industries and programs, as well as why Iowa is the best pick for you or your business.
