By Debi Durham, Director at Iowa Economic Development Authority
The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) is proud to partner with the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) to promote Iowa’s high-tech economy. While IEDA focuses on growing three targeted industries – advanced manufacturing, biosciences and insurance/financial services – it is information technology that powers their resurgence. It provides the foundation for innovation that keeps Iowa companies on the cutting edge.
At the IEDA, we are honored to be part of an administration that has ushered in a new spirit of collaboration, creating a culture that seeks to involve the private sector in all of our endeavors. This approach allows us to leverage limited public resources many times over.
The result is a new economic development model that is more nimble, more responsive, more willing to find a path to “YES.” And, it’s a model that is attracting both attention and investment from all over the world. But perhaps most importantly, we know that sometimes the best thing government can do is simply get out of the way.
