OTTUMWA — Under the past leadership of Mark Eckman and Abby Kisling, the Greater Ottumwa Convention and Visitors Bureau has become a major player in the travel and tourism industry. A new director is expected to take the organization another step forward.
"We are pleased and excited to announce that Melissa Little has been selected as the new director of the Greater Ottumwa Convention and Visitors Bureau," said Dale Uehling, board president, Bridge View Center, Inc. "Melissa is the right person to take the CVB to the next level."
A press release from City Hall says Little brings a wide range of experiences to this position, which helps promote tourism in the area. In addition to owning her own business, she has an MBA in marketing from Butler ! University and 15 years of sales experience. Prior to moving to Ottumwa, Little ran the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce.
She has worked on RAGBRAI, the Ottumwa Symphony Guild and other community organizations. Little will assume her duties Aug. 14.
