Agassiz redevelopment on council agenda
Saturday, July 06, 2019
OTTUMWA — The former Agassiz Elementary School will become new housing.
The redevelopment will create 36 new units, according to documents provided to the city council in advance of the meeting. The documents said Jim Danaher will apply for tax incentives, and a stand-alone tax increment financing district is planned for the development.
Details of that TIF district are not yet available. The description provided for the council by City Planner Kevin Flanagan said incentives will be offered “for a yet undetermined period of years.” The city needs a proposal from the developer prior to beginning that portion of the work.
