Ottumwa Regional Airport to Host 2017 Fly Iowa

Ottumwa, IA, April 17, 2017– The City of Ottumwa is pleased to announce that Ottumwa Regional Airport will host Fly Iowa on August 26-27, 2017.
Fly Iowa is expected to draw approximately 7,500 people to Ottumwa and will include action-packed air shows that will be free to the public. The shows will highlight performances by nationally known stunt pilots Skip Stewart, Kyle Franklin, Matt Youkum, and Brian Correll. The performers will operate unique aircraft during the shows, such as a Twin Beech 18, Changer II, B-25, Gunfighter P-51, Stearman, biplanes, custom planes, and more. Other activities during Fly Iowa include a jet rally sponsored by Academy of Model Aeronautics, a fly-in breakfast, a pilot’s dinner, youth aviation activities, historical displays, food vendors, and entertainment.
“This statewide event will bring pilots and spectators from across to the state to Ottumwa,” said Ottumwa Mayor Tom Lazio. “We are excited to once again showcase our community as well as bring a great experience to the Fly Iowa visitors.”
Fly Iowa is an annual event is overseen by the nonprofit organization, the Iowa Aviation Promotion Group (IAPG), whose mission is to grow aviation by increasing the number of pilots, aviation users, and aviation supporters within the state.
