OTTUMWA – Alliant Energy and the Ottumwa Hometown Rewards Steering Committee partnered to bring Hometown Rewards to Ottumwa. The great opportunity was kicked off with a celebration on May 3 at the Bridge View Center.
Those who came enjoyed activities for the whole family – including music, food from local food trucks, plus door and grand prize giveaways. There were also tips shared that showed how easy it is to save energy.
Hometown Rewards is a two-year program that helps residents save energy, save money and become more sustainable. We will help fund an energy-efficient project for the community, if the city reaches its goal of reducing energy usage by 4 percent (or 451 kWh per home.)
“Our customers make the biggest impact on their costs when they focus on energy efficiency and conservation,” says Anne Carter, Alliant Energy’s director of energy efficiency. “Hometown Rewards can help them turn those savings at home into something that helps the entire community.”
