Open house introduces Ottumwa to Latino organization

OTTUMWA – The president of United Auto Workers Local 74 in Ottumwa was more than happy to host an open house for the League of United Latin American Citizens Sunday.
“Part of UAW’s mission is fighting for social and economic justice,” Chris Laursen said. “[We] help our community as much as possible.”
LULAC 377 of Ottumwa received its charter in June becoming part of the oldest and largest Latino organization in the U.S. Sunday it hosted an open house to introduce Ottumwa residents to the organization and to encourage Latinos to take leadership roles in the community.
